State Testing happens every year and is held in person at sites throughout the state. We will begin getting ready for each testing session as early as possible. Every testing session is treated as an all hands on deck event. All teachers help to proctor tests for all grade levels.
Testing Windows:
High School students in grades 11-12 who have not successfully passed the ISTEP 10+ test will have two retest windows to complete an assessment in. It is essential that all students in need attempt this test yearly.
10th grade students will need to take the ISTEP 10+ assessment at a separate time. There are different windows for part 1 and part 2.
Grades 3-8 will complete ILEARN; however, different grade levels will take different tests. Biology students are also given an ILEARN assessment. All students/tests in grades 3-8 will count towards our state participation.
The goal for state participation is 100% of all students completing 100% of their tests. This will ensure we have met the state’s expectation for testing participation.
During state testing, you will be assigned as either a:
Site Lead- this person oversees the site. They will be responsible for creating a schedule and assigning proctors to tests. They will also be responsible for all equipment and ensuring that testing protocols are followed at the site.
Proctor- this person will be administering the tests to students.
There will be meetings and trainings in the time leading up to a testing window. You may be asked to go to a site you are not scheduled for, show up on a day that you didn’t originally plan to, or to jump into a role that you weren’t assigned to at first. During state testing, if you have questions, you should first reach out to the site lead. The site lead, if unsure of the answer, will reach out to the appropriate individual.
For a lot of our families, this is their one time of the year to get out and meet staff and other families. We need to make this as positive as possible.
