Plagiarism develops a breach of the assessment of comprehension in any course. Any form of plagiarism is not acceptable at INDLS. This includes using another’s words as your own and using the internet or other sources to gather answers on an assessment.
Writing skills are essential for success in further academic levels and in many professional fields. State assessments, college entry requirements, and job searching require effective writing skills. For this reason, all courses at INDLS incorporate teacher-graded constructed response questions weekly. Plagiarism on these assessments will follow the following disciplinary process:
Evidence of plagiarism documented in student notes- both student response and where it is from included
A note will be added to the user feedback detailing where the response is believed to be from
Student and LC will be contacted via phone to discuss the plagiarism concern and next steps – must be noted
Consequences will increase with each violation:
Violations 1-2: student gets another attempt with no penalty
Violations 3-4: student completes similar activity live in a ClassConnect
Violations 5+: meeting with administrator, LC, teacher, and student; students will complete similar activity live in ClassConnect
